The owner of this Ford Windstar contacted the Upland Police Department and reported that vehicle had been stolen. The officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Within minutes of activation officers from the Chino Police Department picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 12000 block of Central Ave where they located the vehicle parked in the parking lot of a local motel.  Assisting officers arrived and began a field investigation.  The officers contacted the manager of the motel and learned of the suspect’s room number.  They contacted this individual and identified him as the listed suspect.  The suspect was detained for VC 10851 driving a motor vehicle without owner’s permission. The Undamaged vehicle was released to its owner.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Ford in March 2003.
