The owners of a 2006 Nissan Sentra contacted Orlando PD to report that their vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of their apartment complex on Semoran Blvd. during the overnight hours.

Orlando PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

A short while later  officers from Orlando PD and Deputies from Orange County SO picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Officers and Deputies tracked the vehicle to Goldenrod Road where it was located parked in an apartment complex.

The Orange County SO Auto Theft Unit set up surveillance on the Nissan. Approximately one hour later they observed a male enter the Nissan and drive off. The detectives followed the car to a nearby high school where three other males entered the car. As soon as the Nissan exited school property, the Nissan was stopped and the occupants were arrested at the scene.

The Nissan was recovered with no damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Sentra in January 2006.
