The owner of a 2004 Hummer H-2 contacted the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC to report that their vehicle was stolen during an armed carjacking from a convenience store parking lot in Washington, DC.

The District of Columbia Metropolitan Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2004 Hummer H-2.

A short while later officers from the United States Park Police Department picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen 2004 Hummer H-2 with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to 2400 Bryan Place SE in Washington, DC. At that location, officers recovered the parked and unoccupied stolen Hummer H-2 and notified the owner.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2004 Hummer H-2 during August, 2004 at Anderson of Hunt Valley in Cockeysville, Maryland.
