The owner of a 2010 Mercedes Benz E-350 contacted the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC to report that their vehicle was stolen from Massachusetts Avenue NE while he was outside the vehicle, with the keys in the ignition and the engine running.

Metropolitan Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2010 Mercedes Benz E-350.

A short while later officers from Metropolitan Police Department picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen 2010 Mercedes Benz E-350 with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a location in District 6 in Washington, DC. At that location, officers found the vehicle being operated by the theft suspect. Officers were able to stop the vehicle, arrest the suspect and return the undamaged Mercedes Benz E-350 to the owner.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2010 Mercedes Benz E-350 during January, 2010 at ASC Mercedes Benz in Arlington, Virginia.
