The owners of a Honda Accord contacted the Chelsea Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen their car lot on Griffin Way in Chelsea.

The Chelsea Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

A short while later, officers from the Chelsea Police Department began picking up strong LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Honda with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft, while in the area of Eastern Avenue.  By following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers were able to successfully track and then quickly locate the unoccupied vehicle parked on Maverick Street in Chelsea. The recovering officers had the vehicle towed from the scene for safekeeping and pending notification of the owners. This vehicle was recovered in just over two hours from the time of activation.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in July of 1996.
