The owners of a 2006 Chrysler 300C SRT-8 contacted the Belen Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence.  Belen PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chrysler.

A short while later officers from Bosque Farms PD picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Chrysler with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a residence in the area of Highway 304 and Highway 346.

The stolen Chrysler was tracked to a detached and closed garage on a residential lot.  Officers made contact with the residence and were provided permission to search the property locating the stolen Chrysler in the closed garage.  The Chrysler appeared to be in the process of being stripped with its wheels already removed.  The Chrysler was towed from the scene.  Suspect information is known and a warrant is being sought for the offender’s arrest.  Officers from New Mexico State Police and deputies from Valencia County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the recovery.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chrysler 300C SRT-8 in March 2007.
