The owner of a 2007 Mini Cooper contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home in the 5300 block Wendley Road in Baltimore.

The Baltimore Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2007 Mini Cooper.

A short while later patrol officers in the Baltimore PD picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen 2007 Mini Cooper with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 2000 block Gwynn Falls Parkway in Baltimore. At that location, officers observed the vehicle being operated by the theft suspects. Officers stopped the vehicle and placed both suspects under arrest for auto theft. The undamaged Mini Cooper was recovered by police and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Mini Cooper during December, 2007 at BMW of Towson in Towson, Maryland.
