The owners of a Chevrolet Silverado contacted the New Orleans Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a motel parking lot near the I-10 service road in eastern New Orleans during the night.

The Orleans Police Department police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Silverado.

30 minutes later, officers from the New Orleans Police Department picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a street in the Ninth Ward where they located the Chevrolet Silverado parked and in great shape. The truck was placed in storage yard until the owner could claim it.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in July 2003 and year.
