The owners of a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta contacted the Los Angeles Police Department-Topanga Division to report that their vehicle was stolen.

LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volkswagen.

19 minutes later, patrol officers from LAPD-Topanga Division picked up the silent signals from the LoJack® System installed on the stolen Volkswagen on the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack® computers, the vehicle was tracked to the area of the 21800 block of Bryant Street. The vehicle was located, abandoned, parked on the street.

The vehicle was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Volkswagen Jetta on 01/13/14 at Galpin Volkswagen, in the city of North Hills, CA.
