The owners of a 2014 Ford Focus contacted the Los Angeles Police Department-Mission Division to report that their vehicle was stolen.

LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

10 minutes later, patrol officers from LAPD-Topanga Division picked up the silent signals from the LoJack® System installed on the stolen Ford on the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack® computers, the vehicle was tracked to the area of San Fernando Road and Mission. The vehicle was located, abandoned, parked on the street. Investigation revealed that there is a named suspect on the stolen report who was in possession of the ignition key. Detectives from LAPD-Mission Division are conducting the follow up investigation. The vehicle was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Focus on 10/07/13 at Galpin Ford, in the city of North Hills, CA.
