On the owner of this Cadillac Escalade contacted the Fontana Police Department and reported that their vehicle had been stolen. The Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

Minutes later, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Air-7 picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the flight officers tracked the vehicle into the county portion of Montclair and alerted units from Pomona Police Department that apparently the suspect had seen the helicopter tracking the vehicle.  Further, Air-7 indicated that the suspect had exited the Cadillac and was walking away.  Pomona units were directed into the residential area and directed to the suspect.  The suspect made no resistance and was taken into custody without further incident.  He was later booked for vehicle theft and on an outstanding felony warrant.  The undamaged Cadillac was later returned to the victim.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Cadillac in November 2004.
