The owners of a 2013 GMC Yukon contacted the Whittier Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen.  Whittier PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the GMC.

Minutes later, deputies from LASD Pico Rivera Station picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen GMC with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the vehicle to the area of 8000 Cedartree Rd, in Downey.  The deputies found the vehicle abandoned and undamaged.  The vehicle was recovered and later returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the GMC Yukon in November 2012.
