The owner of a 2005 Infiniti FX35 contacted the Cleveland Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their driveway.

Cleveland Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Infiniti.

A short while later officers from the Elyria Police Department picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Infiniti with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a restaurant parking lot in Elyria.

Surveillance was established on the stolen Infiniti and after a short while the suspects returned and entered the vehicle.  The stolen Infiniti was then surrounded by police vehicles and a felony stop was made.  The suspects were removed and placed under arrest.

Because of the quick recovery the suspects were unable to strip the Infiniti or use it to commit additional crimes.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Infiniti FX35 in February 2009.
