The owners of a 2006 Toyota 4Runner SUV contacted the Houston Police Department to report that the keys were left inside the vehicle while they retrieved some items and when they returned they discovered the vehicle had been stolen from the driveway of their residence.

The Houston Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota 4Runner.

Later that same day, officers from the Houston Police Department picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Toyota 4RN with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers   tracked the vehicle to Homestead where the vehicle was parked with the driver still behind the wheel. The lone suspect was arrested. The vehicle was returned to the owner in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Toyota 4Runner SUV in September 2006.
