This Honda CRV was parked at the owners’ residence, located at SE Alder & SE 27th.  When the vehicle owner went to the car the next morning, it was gone.  The theft was immediately reported to the Portland Police Bureau.  They verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Later that same morning, Portland Police officers picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals transmitting from the Honda with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles  and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, Portland Police officers tracked the vehicle SE Alder & SE 32nd, a few blocks from where it was stolen. The vehicle was abandoned and did not appear to be damaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda in May of 1999.  The current owner purchased the Honda as a used car and was not aware it was equipped with LoJack.
