The owners of a 2013 Takeuchi Skid Steer Loader contacted the Horry County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a job site in the county.

Horry County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Takeuchi.

A short while later, officers from Horry County Police Department  picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Skid Steer  with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a residential  address off US 501 in Myrtle Beach.

The officers found the Takeuchi skid seer being used to clear debris from a lot where a house was scheduled to be built. The operator stated he bought the loader from another subject. After questioning the operator could not supply the correct name or address of the supposed seller. The operator was arrested. The investigation is continuing.

The LoJack®System was installed in the Takeuchi Skid Steer Loader in November, 2013.
