The owners of a 2008 Ford F150 pickup contacted the Harris County Sheriff Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a retail shopping center parking lot while the customer was shopping.

Harris County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford F150 pickup.

Within minutes, officers from  the Houston Police Department  picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen F150 with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Ford to an apartment complex where the pickup was located parked and abandoned. The F150 sustained minor entry and ignition damage. The Harris County Sheriff’s Department was notified and the vehicle was released to the owner.

The LoJack®System was installed in the 2008 Ford F150 in October 2008.
