During the afternoon hours the owners of a 2008 Toyota Sienna discovered both their keys and van stolen, so they immediately contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Metro Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota van.

Shortly,  officers with the North Las Vegas Police “South Area Command”   picked up the silent signals from the LoJack® System installed on stolen van with their  LoJack® Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol cars.  The officers quickly tracked the stolen Toyota to a parking lot near N. Lamb Boulevard and E. Washington Avenue where it had been hastily abandoned by the suspect(s). The vehicle was reportedly intact.  The Toyota Sienna had been tracked and recovered by police only 93 minutes after police entered the vehicle into the stolen vehicle system.

The LoJack® System was installed on the van at the owner’s request on 1/28/2011 by Desert Toyota of Las Vegas, NV.
