The owners of a 2013 Audi A4 contacted the Long Beach Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen while they were out shopping.

Long Beach PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Audi A4.

A short while later officers from Long Beach PD picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Audi with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 100 block of Park Avenue, which was only a few blocks from where it was stolen.  The officers found the vehicle unoccupied.  The undamaged vehicle was returned to the owner at the location of the recovery.

The LoJack®System was installed in the Audi A4 in May 2013.
