The owner of a 2014 Audi A5 contacted the Connecticut State Police to report that sometime overnight his car was stolen from the street in front of his home.

The State Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2014 Audi A5.

A short while later, troopers from Troop A, Southbury, picked up the silent signals coming from the LoJack® System installed in the stolen 2014 Audi A5 on the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack® computers, the troopers tracked the vehicle to a residential area in the City of Waterbury, where the vehicle was recovered unoccupied. The Audi was undamaged, unlocked, and was transported to the State Police Barracks for processing.
