The owners of a 2006 Toyota Sienna contacted NYPD’s 43rd precinct to report that their vehicle was stolen while parked near their residence on Seaward Ave., in the Soundview section of the Bronx.

NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers (NYSPIN/ NCIC) which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later officers from NYPD’s 45th precinct picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to an outdoor parking lot on Zerega Avenue  in the confines of the Bronx’s 45th precinct. The officers immediately contacted the owner and the undamaged vehicle was returned to a very happy owner at the recovery location.

The LoJack®System was installed in the Toyota Sienna in December 2006.
