On July 27, 2014, the owner of a 2014 Honda CR-V contacted the 68th Precinct, NYPD Bay Ridge Brooklyn to report that his vehicle was stolen from him. The owner stated that he parked his vehicle and exited to go into a store. Unfortunately he left it running with the key in the vehicle. When he came out the vehicle was gone

The 68th Precinct, NYPD  verified the theft and entered  the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Stolen Honda CR-V.

A short while later, police officers from the NYPD Brooklyn South Auto Larceny Unit picked up the silent signal from the LoJack® System installed on the stolen Honda on their LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack® computers, they tracked the signal into the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, within the 70th precinct. There they tracked the vehicle which was parked on a residential street.  They decided to stake it out for a short while. However when no one ever showed up for it, they took the stolen Honda into custody.

The vehicle was recovered with no damage as the vehicle was taken with the key. The owner was contacted and was present on the scene. He was elated that his vehicle was recovered so quickly, especially with no damage on it.

The LoJack®System was installed in the 2014 Honda CR-V on Jan.4, 2014 at Bay Ridge Honda/Volvo Brooklyn  NY.
