The owners of a 2002 Dodge Intrepid contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from an apartment complex. When they returned to the parking spot that evening it was missing. They parked it earlier that day and must have inadvertently left the key in the car.

The Dallas Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 202 Dodge Intrepid.

16  minutes later troopers from the Louisiana State Police picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the   troopers tracked the vehicle being driven in Marrero, Louisiana. The troopers conducted a felony vehicle stop which resulted in the driver and passenger being arrested for possession of the stolen Dodge Intrepid.

The Dodge was recovered in great shape and was placed in a storage yard for safe keeping.

The LoJack®System was installed in the Dodge Intrepid in December 2001.
