The owner of a Jeep Liberty in East Cleveland, OH, discovered that her vehicle had been stolen from her driveway on a recent Tuesday. The LoJack® system installed in her SUV helped local law enforcement make a fast, safe recovery of the vehicle- for the second time in seven months.

On June 24th, 2014, the Jeep’s owner contacted the East Cleveland Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This step automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Liberty, which was installed at Lithia Chrysler Jeep in Denver, CO.

A short while later, officers with the Cleveland Police Department picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen Jeep on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Jeep in a residential section of Cleveland, where it was parked and unoccupied with a changed license plate. The Liberty was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner. This was the second time this vehicle had been stolen and recovered by police assisted by LoJack in the past seven months.
