The owner of a Toyota Camry in South Carolina discovered their vehicle was missing from their home on a recent Thursday. Thanks to the excellent work of local law enforcement, with assistance from the LoJack® system, the Camry was recovered quickly, safely and damage-free.

On July 3rd, 2014, the Toyota’s owners contacted the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Dick Dyer Toyota in Columbia, SC, was then automatically activated.

A while later, deputies from the Richland County SD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies located the Toyota traveling along the streets of Richland County. The driver attempted evasive maneuvers and eventually abandoned the car in a restaurant lot. The undamaged Camry was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
