The owner of a Toyota Camry discovered it was missing from his home in Queens, NY, on a recent Wednesday. However, it was not gone for long thanks to the excellent work of local law enforcement with help from the LoJack® system that was installed when the vehicle was purchased.

On July 2nd, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the NYPD 114th Precinct. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Toyota of Hackensack, NJ.

A short while later, officers from the 114th Precinct picked up the silent homing signal from the stolen car on their LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Toyota was found parked and abandoned in a quiet commercial area. After a brief surveillance, the undamaged Camry was retrieved and soon returned to its elated owner.
