The Cleveland, OH residents in this case were shocked to discover that their Chevrolet Malibu had been stolen from their driveway on a recent Wednesday. With help from the LoJack® system that had been installed when the car was purchased, local law enforcement recovered it, damage free, later that same day.

On June 25th, 2014, the Chevy’s owner contacted the Cleveland Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Malibu, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in Bedford, OH, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers with the Cleveland PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Chevy being driven in a residential area. A traffic stop was performed and the driver was taken into custody. The undamaged Malibu was soon returned to its grateful owners.
