The owner of a Chevrolet Silverado parked his truck in his employer’s lot on a recent Sunday. It wasn’t until he was leaving that evening that he discovered his vehicle was missing. It wasn’t gone for long thanks to the great work of local law enforcement, with help from the LoJack® system that was installed when the pickup was purchased. Recovery took less than two hours after activation.

On June 8th, 2014, the Chevy’s owner contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report their truck was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Silverado, which was installed at Cormier Chevrolet in Long Beach, CA.

A short while later, officers with the LVMP Northwest Area Command picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Chevy in a residential neighborhood in Las Vegas, where it was found parked, unoccupied and intact. The Silverado was retrieved and soon back in the possession of its happy owner.
