The owners of a Jaguar XJ in Las Vegas, NV, were upset to discover that an acquaintance had made off with their vehicle on a recent Friday. Thanks to the excellent work of local law enforcement, with help from the LoJack® system that was installed when the XJ was purchased, the car was recovered intact that same day.

On June 6th, 2014, the owner of the Jaguar contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the XJ, which was installed at Galpin Jaguar in Van Nuys, CA.

A short while later, officers with the LVMP Enterprise Area Command picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Jaguar at a shopping center on West Sahara Avenue, where it was found parked and abandoned. The XJ was retrieved and soon returned to its appreciative owners.
