Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Recover Stolen Kia Sorento in Less than Two Hours with Help from the LoJack® System

This case involves a Kia Sorento was stolen from its owner’s work parking lot on a recent Saturday. The vehicle was recovered in less than two hours after activation, thanks to the expert work of local police with help from the SUV’s LoJack® system.

The Kia’s owner contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report her vehicle stolen on June 7th, 2014. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Sorento, which was installed at Showcase Auto Plaza in Modesto, CA.

A short while later, officers with the LVMP Enterprise Area Command picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Kia was found parked and abandoned in a residential neighborhood. The Sorento was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
