This case involves a 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche that was stolen on a recent Thursday in Baltimore, MD. The truck’s owners wanted to protect this asset, so they had the LoJack® system installed at purchase, which was a very smart move. With LoJack’s help, their local law enforcement made a fast, safe recovery.

On June 26th, 2014, the Chevy’s owners contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their truck was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Avalanche, which was installed at Bob Bell Chevrolet in Baltimore, MD, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, detectives from the Baltimore RATT (Regional Auto Theft Team) picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The detectives located the Chevy on Shamrock Avenue in Baltimore City, where they found it parked and unoccupied. The Avalanche, valued at $30,100, was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owners.
