When the owners of a Honda Accord in Burien, WA, discovered it had been stolen from their driveway overnight, they were pretty sure that it would be recovered by police with help from the LoJack® system installed inside their car. On three previous occasions, their vehicle had been stolen and recovered by law enforcement, assisted by LoJack.

When the theft was discovered on June 13th, 2014, the Honda’s owners contacted the King County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed inside the Accord, which was installed at Herb Chambers Honda in Boston, MA, was then automatically activated.

Less than one hour later, a King County Sheriff’s Office deputy received the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The Honda was located in the carport of a private residence. The license plate had been switched. One suspect at the residence was taken into custody, and the Accord was soon returned to its thankful owner.
