The Portland, OR residents in this case last saw their Chevrolet Cavalier later on a Saturday night. When they awoke Sunday morning, their car was gone- but not for long. Their local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system that was installed when the vehicle was purchased, recovered it in less than a half hour after activation.

On June 22nd, 2014, the Chevy’s owner contacted the Portland Police Bureau. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Cavalier, which was installed at Sunset Chevrolet in Sumner, WA, was then automatically activated.

Just twelve minutes later, a Portland PB officer received the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The Chevy was located just a short distance from where it was stolen, parked and abandoned. Police retrieved the undamaged Cavalier and soon returned it to its rightful owner.
