The owner of a 2009 Honda Civic in Lynn, MA, woke up on a recent Saturday morning to discover that his vehicle was missing from his driveway, where it had been parked around midnight the previous evening. The LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased proved its worth by helping local law enforcement recover it in just over three hours after activation.

On June 21st, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Burlington Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Herb Chambers Honda in Seekonk, MA.

A short while later, officers with the Lynn Police Department began picking up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicles. The Honda was located at the intersection of Central Avenue and Eustis Street, where it was found parked and abandoned. The officers retrieved the Accord and soon returned it to its grateful owners.
