When a Ford F-250 protected by the LoJack® system was recently stolen from its owner’s residence in Dallas, TX, local law enforcement not only retrieved it with help from LoJack, but found another stolen vehicle as well!

On June 21st, 2014, the Ford’s owner contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the F-250, which was installed at Town East Ford in Mesquite, TX.

A short while later, a flight crew from the Texas Department of Public Safety picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their helicopter. The flight crew spotted the Ford in a fenced area at a gas station and directed Garland PD ground crews to the location. Another recently stolen truck was discovered inside a garage at the same property. The F-250 was retrieved and soon returned to its elated owner. The investigation is ongoing.
