Yonkers, New York Police Recover Stolen Toyota Corolla with Help from the LoJack® System

The owners of a Toyota Corolla parked it near their Yonkers, NY home on a recent Monday, and later discovered it was missing. Local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system that was installed when the vehicle was purchased, made a fast, safe same-day recovery.
On June 16th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner reported the crime to the Yonkers Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NYSPIN and NCIC state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Corolla, which was installed at Paul Miller Toyota in Monsey, NY.
A short while later, officers from the Yonkers PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Toyota was located on Tibbetts Avenue, where it was parked with an occupant in the front seat. The suspect was taken into custody and the undamaged Corolla was returned to its delighted owner.
