Colorado Springs, Colorado Police Recover Scion xA Stolen from Missouri with Help from the LoJack® System

It was just before midnight on a recent Tuesday when the Texas resident in this case discovered his Scion xA missing in Missouri. Police in Colorado recovered it the next day with help from the LoJack® system installed when the car was purchased.

On June 17th, 2014, the Scion’s owner reported the vehicle stolen to the Columbia, MO Police Department. The police verified the ownership and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealer in the xA, which was installed at Longo Toyota in El Monte, CA, was then automatically activated.

A while later, patrol officers and auto theft detectives with the Colorado Springs, CO Police picking up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Scion was located in a motel lot. The two suspects who had parked the car there were taken into custody. Police retrieved the xA and soon returned it to its thankful owners.
