This case is a great illustration of the excellent teamwork between law enforcement and the LoJack® system. A Dodge Caravan was stolen in Baltimore and recovered that same day by police assisted by LoJack. Two suspects were taken into custody as well.

On June 18th, 2014, the Dodge’s owners contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their minivan was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Caravan, which was installed at Herb Gordon Dodge in Silver Spring, MD.

A short while later, detectives from the Baltimore Regional Auto Theft Team (RATT) picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen minivan on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The detectives found the Dodge parked and unoccupied on Hazelwood Avenue. After a brief surveillance, two suspects returned to the vehicle and attempted to drive away, but detectives were able to stop the vehicle and arrest the suspects. The Caravan was soon returned to its thankful owners.
