The owner of a Chevrolet Avalanche in Dallas, TX, discovered his truck was missing from his driveway on a recent Saturday. The LoJack® system that was installed when the pickup was purchased helped local law enforcement make a recovery in less than an hour after activation, so this victim could relax and enjoy the rest of his weekend.

On June 7th, 2014, the Chevy’s owner contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder on the Avalanche, which was installed at Van Chevrolet in Carrollton, TX.

Thirty one minutes later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the silent signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Chevy was spotted traveling on Benbrook Drive. A traffic stop was performed and the driver was arrested. The Avalanche, which was in good condition, was retrieved and soon returned to its elated owner.
