The owners of a Nissan Maxima in Lakewood, CO had their vehicle stolen twice in two months recently. The first time, the car was recovered by local law enforcement assisted by the LoJack® system that was installed when the Maxima was first purchased. These victims were hoping that the police and LoJack would come through once again.

On June 1st, 2014, the Nissan’s owners contacted the Lakewood PD to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their home. The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Maxima, which was installed at Quirk Nissan in Braintree, MA, was then automatically activated.

Minutes later, officers with the Lakewood PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Nissan in an apartment complex lot near 11th and Carr Streets. They retrieved the Maxima and soon returned it to its grateful owners.
