The owner of a Lexus IS300 got a huge shock on a recent Wednesday when she exited her home and found her car missing from her driveway. This vehicle was protected with the LoJack® system when it was purchased, which proved to be a smart choice. Local law enforcement, with help from LoJack, recovered the car quickly, safely, and without any damage.

On June 4th, 2014, the owner of the Lexus contacted the Columbus Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the IS300, which was installed at Lexus Santa Monica in Santa Monica, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, detectives with the Ohio State Highway Patrol Vehicle Theft Unit and officers with the Columbus Police Department picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Lexus was found parked and abandoned in a residential area in Columbus. After a brief surveillance, the IS300 was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owners.
