This case involves a Chrysler 300 that had the LoJack® system installed when it was purchased in California. It was stolen from its owner’s residence in Louisiana and recovered in Texas by law enforcement assisted by LoJack.

On May 22nd, 2014, the Chrysler’s owner contacted the Gonzales Police to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the 300, which was installed at Long Beach Chrysler Jeep in Long Beach, CA, was then automatically activated.

The next morning, an airship from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in Houston, TX picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on its onboard LoJack tracking computer. The flight crew located the Chrysler parked on the street in a subdivision and notified ground officers, who retrieved the 300. The vehicle was in great shape and was soon returned to its happy owner.
