A recent weekend didn’t start off too well for the owner of a Saturn Vue in San Diego, CA when he discovered his vehicle missing from his residence. Thanks to the great work of local law enforcement and assistance from the LoJack® system installed when the car was purchased, recovery and the arrest of a suspect happened that same day, enabling the worried victim to relax and enjoy the rest of his weekend.

On May 31st, 2014, the Saturn’s owner contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Vue, which was installed at Saturn of El Cajon, CA.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Saturn on Lake Badin Street, where it was parked and unoccupied. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of one suspect. The Vue was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owner.
