On a recent Sunday, the owners of a Buick Century in Baltimore, MD, discovered their vehicle was missing. It wasn’t gone for long thanks to the LoJack® system that was installed when it was purchased. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the car later that same day.

The Buick’s owners contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen on May 31st, 2014. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Century, which was installed at Country Cadillac/Buick in Huntington, NY.

A short while later, officers from the Baltimore City PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Buick was found parked and unoccupied on Chester Street. Police retrieved the Century and soon returned it to its grateful owners.
