The owner of a Nissan Armada was visiting his mother on a recent Monday in Brooklyn, NY. He parked his SUV in front of her home. When he was ready to leave, he discovered his vehicle was missing. Because the Armada was protected with the LoJack® system when it was purchased, local law enforcement recovered it safely and without any damage.

On June 2nd, 2014, the Nissan’s owner contacted the NYPD 61st Precinct to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Armada, which was installed at Bay Ridge Nissan in Brooklyn, NY.

A while later, officers from the Brooklyn South Auto Larceny Unit picked up the silent homing signal from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Nissan was located on a small one block street, where it was parked and abandoned. After a brief surveillance, the undamaged Armada was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
