The owner of a Honda Civic was carjacked on a recent Tuesday in Paterson, NJ. Thanks to the excellent work of local law enforcement, with help from the LoJack® system installed in the vehicle, it was recovered later that same day.

On June 3rd, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department to report the incident. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Honda North in Danvers, MA.

A short while later, deputies from the Passaic County SD picked up the silent homing signals coming from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Honda was found parked and abandoned in the area of 40th Street and 19th Avenue in Paterson. The Civic was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owners.
