This case involves a Nissan Armada that was parked near its owner’s home in Bronx, NY, on a recent Wednesday. When the SUV was discovered missing later that day, local law enforcement, with help from the LoJack® system that was installed at purchase, made a fast, safe, same-day recovery.

On June 4th, 2014 the Nissan’s owner contacted NYPD’s 44th Precinct to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NYSPIN and NCIC state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Armada, which was installed at Cox Nissan in Bronx, NY, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, detectives from the Bronx DA’s Auto Squad picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Nissan was found in a municipal lot on E.138th Street, parked and unoccupied. After a brief surveillance, the undamaged Armada was retrieved and quickly returned to its extremely happy owner.
