The GMC Yukon in this case was parked at a business in Portland, OR on a recent Friday evening. Sometime after midnight, the SUV’s owner returned and discovered the vehicle gone. Local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system that was installed at purchase, recovered the Yukon later that same morning.

When the crime was discovered on May 24th, 2014, it was reported to the Portland Police Bureau. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Yukon, which was installed at Stevens Creek GMC in Santa Clara, CA.

Later that morning, a Portland PD officer received the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The GMC was located on SE Clinton Street where it was found parked and abandoned. Police retrieved the Yukon and soon returned it to its appreciative owner.
