The owners of a Honda Accord got quite a shock on a recent Friday morning when they discovered that their Honda Accord was missing from its parking space at their Aventura, FL condo complex. The LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased assisted local law enforcement in making a fast, safe, same-day recovery.

On May 23rd, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Aventura Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Shack-Findlay Honda in Henderson, NV.

Later in the day, officers from the Miami-Dade Police Department picked up the silent homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Honda was spotted traveling on N.W. 79th Street, and officers performed a traffic stop. The driver was taken into custody. The Accord’s owners were happy to have their car returned to them.
