The crew of a construction company in Floresville, TX, arrived to their job site on a recent Friday and discovered that their rented 2014 Bobcat S350 Front Loader had been stolen. The rental company and owner of the missing machine had protected this asset with the LoJack® system, which helped local law enforcement recover the loader from a hiding place on private property.

On May 2nd, 2014, the Wilson County Sheriff’s Department was informed of the crime. Deputies verified the theft and entered the equipment information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Bobcat.

A while later, Texas State Troopers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen machine on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The troopers requested air assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter. The flight crew directed the Troopers to a barn at a ranch in Hondo. The Bobcat was found inside the barn. Troopers retrieved the front loader and soon returned it to the grateful rental company. Further investigation is ongoing.
